A sturdy two story cementitious block commercial building with great character and charm. The building was purposly built after the Second World War to accommodate the growing local industry, namely truck and coach builders in Oakland. This property was resurrected after many years of neglect which included a semi collapsed roof, multiple failed structural supports and no apparent waterproofing. We structurally retrofitted the building, waterproofed the entried envelope, added new custom made skylights and added new drywall and installed LED lighting. We also were granted through planning seperation of the building into two individual units. We also included energy saving appliances and specialty insultation along with adding many attractive architectural details like custom exterior doors, sunshades and corten planter boxes.
